Austrian born, but because of the political problems in the 1930's, moved to Germany after graduating, where he worked for Magirus and Porsche. One of his roles at Porsche was to develop the Tiger 1 tank. Once the Second World War was over, Hruska founded a car dealership with Carlo Abarth, and then worked on the Cisitalia F1 project with Piero Dusio. When he was working at his next role, at Finmeccanica, he ended up as an advisor to Alfa Romeo, and eventually joined them in 1954. He later joined Simca and FIAT, before becoming a design consultant, including for an Italian technical institute, which he remained involved in until his death.
