Rather obscure entrant, with little racing experience, for the 1948 event. Tansy was a garage owner and county deputy sheriff for the Marion Police Force. Tansy, who entered his own built car for the 1948 event was better known, in racing circles, for his dirt-track racing. His son, of the same name, continued in the law and order field as he became a qualified notary.
