Businessman and amateur driver, a real lover of life who enjoyed his racing but didn't take it too seriously. Luigi won the Hyeres 12 hours in 1954 with Maurice Trintignant which encouraged him to attempt the 1955 Italian Grand Prix in an ancient piece of machinery, before buying a Maserati 250F which he attempted to do his best in over the next few years. But sportscars were his forte, winning his class in the Tour of Sicily in 1952 amongst other notable results.
