Went on to run his Ferrari dealership in Ireland and did property development in Cheshire. Died of pneumonia and complications of Parkinson's Disease. Kelly's career was relatively short, racing from the late 1940's until 1955, but his Ferrari dealership kept him linked to the sport and the industry until he sold the firm up in 1969, but then stayed involved with cars by amassing a classic car collection. Prior to racing, he also ran a petrol station, worked for a removal firm and was a bus and tram driver in Dublin.
