Died in a nursing home in Reno, after almost decade-long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Levrett was a West Coast racer from the 1930's until the 1950's who raced primarily in sprint cars. Retired after sustaining serious injuries in practice for the Indianapolis 500, which, on top of burns that he received in a crash in 1947 meant his body couldn't take much more racing. Bayliss then opened a transmission repair shop in Los Angeles initially in 1955, before moving to Reno in 1974. The transmission company is still going, run by the Levrett family and Bayliss' grandson, Mark, also raced in off-road events.
