Qualified and raced in the banned Spanish Grand Prix in 1980. Raced until the late 1980's - now works as journalist and works in a number of different media. He was also advisor to the Irish duo of Richard Lyons and Ralph Firman, and was a shareholder and managing director in the Status GP3 team. In 2017, he became managing director of Theodore Racing (run by original team boss Teddy Yip's son, Teddy Jr.), who are in Formula 3 and Formula 4. Kennedy has also formerly organised and run automotive exhibitions and then founded - and still runs - a racewear and motorsport accessories business.
