Carried on racing until 2009, but now retired. Now works as a pundit on Italian TV and has some involvement with female racing associations. She also works in other forms of media including print journalism. Giovanna also enjoys skiing and golf, but is also heavily involved in Evangelical Christian media projects which is close to her heart. In 1978, Giovanna was kidnapped for three months so that her wealthy parents could pay an ransom, but happily was released largely unharmed.
