Now retired, after a spell in endurance racing and GT's. Now runs a new racing complex and track, specifically for karting, the Friuli Venezia circuit. Grassotto was another kart graduate who impressed in Formula Renault, firstly in his homeland in 1999 and then in 2000 Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup, finishing second in the series. A solid German Formula 3 season opened up a move to Italian Formula 3000 in 2002 and then to International Formula 3000 in 2004. Although Matteo only raced twice in the series, he scored a points finish on his debut at Spa. He then had a spell in GT racing and won the GT3 class in the Italian GT series in 2008.
