After being involved in the Life Formula 1 farce, as the test driver, Franco later went to the United States. Franco raced once in CART and competed in Grand Am and the Spanish GT championship. Now works as a racing instructor and also flies small commercial planes. The Life test driver role was enough to scupper any progress in Formula 1, although in truth, Franco struggled for a proper budget to go racing and may not have progressed further anyway. Franco also works as a coach and consultant to a kart team and as a race engineer and likes skiing. He now lives in Geneva, Switzerland. Scapini also raced powerboats and won eight times in the sport. He is also currently involved in an Italian effort to break the land speed record.
