Spent two seasons with Alfa Romeo in the British Touring Car Championship - winning once at Donington Park in 1994 - and also raced in the DTM. Now works for the CIGS as a racing school instructor and runs a vending machine operations and installation company in his home town. World Karting Champion in 1987, Simoni struggled in his graduation to cars in 1989 in British Formula Ford 1600, but seemed happier in Italian Formula 3 where he became a race winner. However Formula 3000 didn't generally go that well and his career never really took off in tin-tops either.
