1984 Italian Formula 3 champion, beating Alex Caffi to the title, Alessandro later raced in touring and sports cars for a few years, after a largely disappointing Formula 3000 spell. Alessandro, who was based in Venice for much of his career, still attends historic Formula 3 races, occasionally competing in them as well. His family founded, and indeed still run the Principe Palace in Lido di Jesolo, and Alessandro is now also involved in running the hotel along with his brother Max.
