Now retired after a long endurance career. Was a race engineer but now runs a car dealership in Sao Paulo. He also works as a racing instructor in GT cars for both racing drivers and corporate and personal tuition for both Audi and Porsche. He is also linked to Affonso Giaffone's armoured car business in both a sales and technical capacity. Maurizio previously also ran a rally team. Twice came close to Formula 1 drives with both Brabham and Benetton, after impressing by coming second in British F3 in 1986 and winning the British Formula Ford 1600 title in 1983.
