Formula 3000 Champion in 2000, he was in the frame for a seat with Williams in Formula 1, but missed out to Jenson Button. Subsequently, Bruno moved to CART and then the Champ Car World Series, in which he remained until the series collapsed. He then moved to the IRL until leaving single-seaters in 2012. Junqueira was racing in the US Sportscar Series after spells in ALMS and racing trucks and stockcars in his homeland, but hasn't had a full-time drive for some while. In 2016, it was only appearing in a few rounds of the World Endurance Championship instead. In 2017, he was again in a part-time drive, competing in the NASCAR Whelen Euroseries. In 2018, Bruno moved into sportscars and the US Sportscar Championship. In 2019, he moved to the Lamborghini Super Trofeo and won on his debut in the series. However, Bruno, who is now based in Florida, is a real-estate broker in the Miami area and only now - and this is rarely - races for fun.
