Former Formula 3 driver who got his big chance in the IRL in 2008 and continued in the series until 2011. Subsequently, Mario has retired from racing, as his dad's death led to an eventual shortfall in money to go racing. Now Mario is involved in sports and racing administration and also has a role in the family industrial conglomerate business. Moraes moved to the US aged just fourteen to race in North American Formula Renault, and although he did return to his homeland for a couple of years, Mario was based in the States for the next eight years. Although he had a few good results, he never did win a race in Indycars.
