Indy 500s: | 12 (2011-2022) |
Indycar graduate in 2011 who was racing full-time until 2017, after a spell of part-time drives and a foray in the Formula Drift series. In 2018, sadly, it was back to the Indianapolis 500 and part-time drives again and 2019 saw a repeat of this. 2022 saw another year of the same. Currently he is working on media projects and team ownership in sportscars. Won the Indy Lights title in 2009. Hildebrand - whose initials stand for John Randal - could've accepted a place at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology but decided to take up racing instead, winning the 2004 SCCA Formula Russell title and the 2006 Formula Ford 2000 crown. But it was the Indy Lights title that advanced his career, until it wasn't until 2011 that he secured a full-time drive. In 2021, Hildebrand appeared at Pikes Peak amongst other one-off events.
