In 2019, he became Haas F1's reserve and test driver but dovetailed this with a DTM drive. In 2020, he stayed as Haas reserve and when Romain Grosjean was injured in a horrific accident at Bahrain, Fittipaldi stepped in to make his Formula 1 debut. Remained with Haas in 2022 but also raced in the European Le Mans Series. In 2023, he was in the World Endurance Championship and in 2024, was in Indycar. He decided to move away from his single-seater career in 2025, moving into the IMSA series.
