Real name Luigi Bertetti, Gino was a resident of Italy until 1928, when the family moved to Rio de Janeiro. Started off as a mechanic, running his own workshop near the Copacabana beach. Gino started racing as a seventeen year old, then later raced in hill-climbs, but started to achieve really notable results in his homeland in 1948 and 1949. His reputation helped secure his trip to Europe in 1952. After he returned to Brazil, he only carried on racing for a few years afterwards. A heavy smoker, Bianco died after having breathing problems and battling cancer of the esophagus.
