Died of a heart-attack whilst watching a NASCAR race, the Champion Spark Plug 400 race at the Michigan International Speedway. As a racer, he was based in midget and sprint cars from the 1940's until the 1960's. Force, whose full name was Robert Eugene Force, won the CORA (Car Owner's Racing Association) Midget title on two occasions; in 1970 and again in 1971. Force took up racing in 1939 in sprint cars at Franklin, Indiana and then carried on for about 35 years. He came second in the Sprint Car 3A Division series and in 1960, came sixth in the USAC standings.
