Later took American citizenship, as he held dual nationality when he attempted at qualification. That said, Pickard, was less than two years old when his family moved to America in 1897. Real name was Thomas William. Pickard worked as an automobile salesman. Pickard's racing career was relatively short with a flurry of attempts to qualify his own Sievers race car in 1926. As well as Indianapolis, there were qualification attempts on three board ovals; Atlantic City, Altoona and Rockingham. After his car broke down with problems at Altoona, Pickard appears to have got discouraged and left the sport.
