Primarily a dirt-track driver, Lecklider started racing in the 1920's, finding more success when he moved to California, and took a number of wins on dirt-tracks. His last Indianapolis event was in 1930, when he was a relief driver for Leslie Allen. After this, he stopped racing, largely as funds had run out to go racing. Settled in California and worked in a garage as a repairman for many years.
