Later ran a construction company. Stalwart local driver who competed almost exclusively in North East America. Arguably Rhode Island's greatest racing driver, or certainly the best before the 1980's, Turgeon won many dirt track races in the 1920's. A lot of these races were in Turgeon's own Turgeon Special, a car he built and developed to race with. He also owned his own Miller car which failed to qualify in 1929 for Indianapolis, but he did qualify and race it in an AAA dirt oval race at Langhorne Speedway in 1930. Turgeon also raced a Lacerox Bentley in dirt track racing; this was a modified Bentley car from England.
