Another kart graduate, Gabriel started car racing in Italian F4 in 2020. A promising 5th in the series saw him move forward to the Formula Renault European Championship. In 2022, he moved to Formula 3, winning the title in 2023. In 2024, he stormed to the Formula 2 title in his first year, earning a deserved Formula 1 seat with Sauber ahead of them becoming Audi in 2026. After joining Fernando Alonso's driver management company in 2022, he joined his manager three years later on the F1 grid.
