Raced on for a while in Japan, which became a second home to him before retiring from driving in the late 1990's. Andrew then became a driver manager, notably for Takuma Sato, who he managed for nearly 10 years, including during the Japanese driver's spell in Formula 1. He is now involved with the Morgan car company, as his maternal family are involved in running that business. Gilbert-Scott is descended from a very notable family of whom the best known are probably Sir George Gilbert Scott, the architect behind the Albert Memorial as well as Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, who was also an architect who designed Liverpool Cathedral, Battersea Power Station and the red telephone boxes seen in the UK. In 2023, he made a surprise return to racing in sports cars.
