Vastly experienced and hugely likeable racer. Winner of Le Mans in 1988, he went on to drive, with great success, in IMSA, endurance races, GT cars and the DTM. From 1999-2010, he was one of the top drivers in the American Le Mans Series. Now appears frequently in historic events and is largely based in the USA, where he is a sportscar tester and development driver, mostly for Bugatti and their Veyron car. His single-seater career is somewhat forgotten now, but Andy won the 1986 British F3 championship, amongst other successes, but he was hamstrung by a lack of funds, and worked as a fitter for British Gas, amongst other jobs, to raise money.
