Found little luck or future in Formula 3000 but since leaving the category hardly looked back. He raced in Indy Pro, the BTCC and Indycars, but by and large, found his niche in endurance racing. In 2006, after 7 seasons in the American Le Mans Series, he retired from racing. Now works as a consultant to drivers and teams in various American sportscar series, but also in 2014, started work for a while as a race engineer in the British Touring Car Championship for Rob Austin. Nowadays, James enjoys his gardening but he also helps his daughter with both her horse-riding and stables. Weaver also works for AER Engineering in Essex.
