Of Swedish nationality, but raced under a Swiss licence, largely for sponsorship reasons. Retired from racing in 1993. Now CEO of Captimax Sports Media, who make state-of-the-art camera systems, built specifically to enhance televised sporting events, including motor racing. They specialise in brand placement in sporting events, and patented the revolutionary Navicam system. He also now runs Planetaire, which is a company that helps companies leverage the ability of sports to create deeper bonds between brands and customers . Mario, who also works as a translator, is fluent in five languages, and currently lives back in his homeland, in Goteborg. Since 2018, Mario has become an Associate Fellow of World Academy of Arts and Science.
