For many years, Max ran a karting team in Switzerland; Max Busslinger Motorsport. Busslinger ran the outfit from 1996, after retiring as a driver until 2014. Max returned, successfully, to karting as a driver shortly after his Formula 3000 spell. Max retired in 1995 after 20 years of racing, which included Formula Ford and Formula 3 on his way up. Busslinger's team was a family affair, with his wife, son and brother involved, which Max did to try and reciprocate the support from his elder brother Jari, when Busslinger himself started in karts. Busslinger concentrated on his other business projects for a little bit but now lives in Thailand, where he enjoys playing golf.
