Successful and longstanding sports and touring car driver who is still racing, albeit not that often now, in GT races. Retired from full-time racing in 2008. He is also an exporter/importer, running his ever growing CAREX auto parts and accessories business, but also runs a sports car garage in Goldach and also likes cycling. Eichmann began racing in the mid-1970's and made it to German Formula 3 by 1978. He also competed in the VW Castrol European Cup and European Formula 3 before his Formula 2 foray. He later appeared in the DTM, Renault Elf Turbo Europa Cup, the German Porsche Carrera Cup, the Porsche Supercup, the ADAC GT Cup, the Swiss Touring Car Championship and the FIA GT series. He finished 2nd in the 1982 German Formula 3 Championship, arguably his best performance in single-seaters.
