Still runs a garage, and has done for years, as he ran it when he raced. That was the way into the sport for him, but his career didn't last very long initially, quitting after his F2 foray. But then, some 25 years later, he returned to the tracks to compete in a range of events, including historic NASCAR. He carried on racing in historic events, being a long-time competitor in the Austrian Histo-Cup series, until he was seventy in 2015.
