Rolf now runs a combustion engine company for go-karts and arranges go-kart events but it is a motorcycle sidecar racer that he will forever be remembered for. Biland took seven FIM Sidecar World Championships, winning eighty Grand Prix's. He started racing in 1971 as a sidecar passenger initially. Not only was Rolf successful in this field, he helped changed the sport as when he entered, sidecars were very similiar to those on the road, but his aerodynamic work with Louis Christen saw different designs appear in the sport, which included a monocoque chassis and car-type suspensions. Rolf retired from sidecar racing in 1996 and then became a team manager for a short while. As well as his business, Rolf also coaches young sidecar racers and teams.
