Car builder, owner and founder of the HORAG team. Hotz started racing and car building in the 1960's and stil, until quite recently did both - well into his seventies, he was competing in hillclimbs, which he started in. However it has been his cars where he has gained the most success of over 45 years racing. Hotz was Swiss Hillclimb Champion in 1975 and 1977 and also won some non-championship F2 races in the former year. Markus carried on racing competitively until the mid-1980's in both sportscars and procars. The team now competes in rallying, hillclimbing and historic racing, amongst other series. More recently, the Horag concern has branched into providing and distributing synthetic fuel.
