Grandson of Anthony Noghes, and son of Alexandre, who was a tennis player and married, briefly, to Princess Antoinette of Monaco, Prince Rainier's sister. Lionel's mother was the first wife of Alexandre (Aleco) Noghes. Also raced for a while in sportscars and rallies, but was badly injured in a Le Mans crash and not only never raced again competively, but took a while to recover. Noghes has run a number of businesses, including a home furnishing company and released a biography, in French, in 2016 about his life.
