Now a car tester and journalist, who is also head of a driving school for Quattroruote and on top of this runs Formula Guida, a school for young racing drivers, with Alex Caffi. Truffo started in karts, winning the European title for Italy in 1966. He thereafter moved up the ranks successfully and then raced in sportscars, before retiring in the early 1990's. Truffo was one Osella's earliest drivers and helped the fledging team with a number of points-scoring finishes in Formula 2 in 1975. He would probably have progressed further but for a lack of sponsorship which led him into - eventually - sportscars, in which he also raced for Osella.
