Better known as an engineer and constructor, but he enjoyed a long racing career. A good friend of Nuvolari, he initially raced from 1950-1961, then worked on cars and engines and was an inventor. He returned to racing in the 1970's and his F2 event was his last professional race, at the age of 55. Son Nicola later raced in F3000 and Danilo helped him, but continued to work on cars and act as an engineering consultant until his death after a short illness.
