Sadly died in 2014 of a stroke. Worked, until his death, as a much respected senior member and organiser in the CSAI. He was a great tutor, friend or inspiration for many Italian drivers in the 1980's and 1990's, including Ivan Capelli, who Giorgio helped to reach Formula 1 through his links to AGS's sponsor, Charro. Probably best at Formula 3 level, his Formula 2 spell didn't quite really follow up on his earlier results in lower formulae.
