Driver and journalist, who was racing in touring cars at the time of his death in a light plane crash. Ertl took up racing in 1969 and proved quite adept early on, moving up to Formula 3 and the European Touring Car Championship as early as 1971. 1973 was Harald's most successful year as he won the 1973 Tourist Trophy at Silverstone, as well as a Super Vee race at Hockenheim that year. As well as touring cars, Harald was also racing in the Renault Five Turbo Championnship when he died, aged only 33.
