For the last 15 years or so, Walter has been involved in a successful lower formulae team, Interwetten Racing, which has appeared in Moto GP, the old WSR series, and rallies, amongst other series. His son has taken over the main control of the team, but Walter remains involved. The team have branched on into motorcycles more now, racing in the Moto2 and Moto3 disciplines. Walter himself also raced in sportscars as a driver.
