Still very much linked to the sport as he appears at historics. Also runs a motorcycle parts and accessories business. Braun is better remembered for his prowess on two wheels; he won the 1970 FIM 125cc World Championship, as well as winning the Isle of Man TT that same year, one of the few people to have won the event on his debut. In 1973, Braun won the 250cc FIM World Championship. He won fourteen races in a career that spanned over 100 entries, winning races from 1969 up until 1976. He retired from both forms of motor sport - two and four wheels - after injuries sustained in a heavy crash at the 1977 Austrian 350 cc motorcycle Grand Prix. Braun raced in the 500cc category as well between 1974 and 1976, taking a best result of third at the Belgian 500cc motorcycle Grand Prix.
