Raced in Formula B and Formula Atlantic (winning the 1972 British Formula Atlantic series), but started by racing Mini's. Also appeared in Formula 5000. Still appears at historic events, sometimes driving, and looks well. Gubelmann's day job was as an investment manager in New York City, not far from his base in Elmsford, New York State, but he was an able driver as he won the SCCA North Eastern Championship in 1967.
