Still appears in historics around the world, in which he has been one of the leading lights of the genre. He was founder and organiser of Historic Grand Prix series which ran a few years back. Lives in Colorado, and during his career he raced in Formula Ford, Formula B and Formula Atlantic amongst others. King started racing aged twenty-one in roadsters but his career was disrupted by service in the US Army and in Vietnam. Once his tour of duty was over, King moved into Formula Ford in 1969 and then into Formula B. After moving over to England in 1977, King aimed for Formula 1 but money he was owed dried up, meaning only one Formula 2 start. He moved back to the US and raced on until 1987 before concentrating on his business. He returned to historic racing in 1993 and then sold his business in 1998 to enjoy life and some more racing, which he has done ever since.
