Lost the sight of one eye after a freak accident in the 1972 French GP. Worked for Formula Austria and then became a top F3000 boss. He now has motorsport links with Red Bull and his management skills were evident when he managed to get youngster Christian Klien in an F1 seat for 2004. Now Red Bull's motorsport director following their buyout of Jaguar and he also runs a hotel in Graz. Marko has a doctorate in law which he obtained before he began his racing career, influenced by his long-time friend Jochen Rindt. Before Marko's accident, his biggest triumph was winning the 1971 Le Mans, and he was also a winner in touring cars. Marko also managed Helmut Koinigg, Markus Hottinger, Gerhard Berger and then Jorg Muller amongst others in his long involvement post-racing.
