Sadly found dead in his apartment in Vienna, aged only 54. Mainly a sportscar racer, who took advantage of an opportunity to try out F1, but it wasn't a success. Stuppacher started racing in 1969 in sportscars and hillclimbs. Otto had his own Porsche 906 which he entered himself, before getting a works drive with the Bosch Racing Team in 1970 for the European Sportscar Championship. A friend of Niki Lauda, Otto bought another Porsche from him and won the Austrian Mountain hillclimbing Championship in 1971. He then raced sporadically for a few years before his short Formula 1 spell.
