Pre-war ace who took a number of wins. Hans carried on racing until the - and indeed his - '60's. Stuck then helped his son Hans-Joachim race and stayed linked with the sport until his death. A tall man - standing at 6 foot 2 inches - Stuck was born in Poland by accident as his parents were away on a business trip at the time. During World War 1, he served in the German artillery but during World War Two, Stuck found life more difficult. His wife at the time (second of three), Paula von Reznicek was a tennis player but also the grand-daughter of a Jew. Both this and Germany's suspension from racing after World War Two saw Stuck taken up an Austrian licence and citizenship. Stuck later became a starter and official for Austrian hillclimbing. A multiple hill-climb champion, amongst Stuck's other triumphs were winning the German Grand Prix in 1934 and the Italian Grand Prix in 1935.
