Car owner, who raced in a variety of events throughout most of the 1950's. Kept links with the sport for many years after his racing career ended and worked as a truck driver. As he resided in Daytona Beach, McCoy would often visit the local races held at Daytona Speedway. McCoy, whose real name was Ernest Musser, was actually two years older than often credited. The bulk of his career was based in midget and sprint cars in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In 2017, the Action Track USA circuit named a section of its grandstand after Ernie; his family were there to see it dedicated, which included his great-grandson Seth Spayd, who has also become a racer. McCoy took 22 ARDC Midget wins and came second in the AAA Eastern Division Sprint Car Championship.
