Much better known as a midget driver, it never really happened at Indianapolis for him. He had two attempts; one in a Shilala-Offy, the other in a Kuzma-Offy, but the result, sadly, for Bud, was still the same. Clemons largely specialised on dirt tracks and did also appear at a dirt oval AAA event at Phoenix, in 1957. Later became a pipe-fitter. Died after a short illness. Clemons was a regular in USAC midget events in the late 1950's and early 1960's, with his most notable result occuring in 1956, when he won the Orange Show Speedway midget race, ahead of the likes of Johnnie Parsons.
