Midget ace, with over 100 wins in the discipline. Raced for most of the 1950's and also attempted a couple of endurance touring events as well. Fedricks took up racing after becoming friends with a local driver called Harry King, with the initial sole purpose of trying to beat King for bragging rights. Fedricks did really well, beating the likes of Ralph Pratt, winning in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. John was lucky to survive two massive crashes in the Mexican Road Race in 1951 and 1952; the former when he crashed into a house, and the latter when he lost control and veered off a small cliff, landing on a dry river bed, but with the car largely intact. Johnny drove for miles, but broke his back in five places. A well-respected racer, Duane Carter was John's best man at his wedding.
