Until his death, at the grand old age of 98, Paul was still involved in his aviation engine business, whilst he also owned two racehorse ranches. Despite being over 95 years of age, he continued to fly his beloved planes. His main motorsport links in his twilight years tended to be confined to motorcycle meetings, which is the discipline that Paul is probably best remembered for. As well as flying, he ran Griffith-Merrillville Airport and an aircraft company, but was also the CEO of both an aviation business and a manufacturing company in Indiana. As a racer, in his motorcycle racing days, he won the Daytona 200 on the beach course in 1953. He won 9 NASCAR Grand National (as it was then known) races, two USAC Stock Car championships. 25 USAC Stock wins and he is the only driver to win motorcycle and auto race on the Daytona beach course.
