Midget racing legend, who raced for years, despite losing a hand in a racing accident, which later led him to support and advise many disability groups and charities. Raced for over 20 years, winning titles over a space of 15 years, mainly in California, and never left the West Coast of America to drive. Died of a heart-attack. Although born in Canada, Heath spent most of his life in the US, moving to Seattle in 1922. Heath's father ran a garage and that's how Allen got into racing, starting in midgets in 1938. When America entered World War Two, Heath was going to join the famed 101st Division as a paratrooper but a bad ankle scuppered that and he served as a motor pool staff sergeant in Italy and North Africa instead.
