A veteran and extremely versatile racer, who later emigrated to Mexico, where he ran a restaurant in Mexico City. Trevoux raced for twenty-five years or so, mostly in rallies. He won the Monte Carlo Rally four times. He began his career in 1929 in rallies, but also raced in sportscars, ending up racing eight times at Le Mans. Trevoux won the Monte Carlo Rally in 1934, 1939, 1949 and 1951. He also won the Rallye du Maroc in 1935 and 1937. Most of this success was when driving a Hotchkiss. In 1951, Jean moved to America, but ended up meeting a Mexican lady and moved south of the border. He raced in five Carrera Panamericana events until 1954. His restaurant was later bought by the father of Pedro and Ricardo Rodriguez and Jean helped them in their careers. He then ran a garage dealership before making his last ever race start in a special event that saw Ricardo Rodriguez make his first ever competitive start in 1957. Trevoux remained interested in the sport and attended any Mexican Grand Prix event he could.
