Another technical expert, Mitchell was a friend of Fred Wacker and accompanied Fred to Europe when Wacker attempted Grand Prix racing, driving himself in minor events, but mainly acting as Fred's advisor.A racer, then race car builder, he patented over 350 devices in his lifetime for a range of industries - and all this came after he struggled at school, barely being able to read and write when he left there.
